Tulle Winter Wreath

My new obsession with Pinterest lead me to find these two adorable wreaths.

Apple Tulle Wreath (naptimejournal.blogspot.com)

Christmas Frame Wreath

I absolutely love both of them and I still plan to make some just like it! But for now I made a combo of the two to create this Winter Inspired Tulle Wreath

Materials:
Spools of Tulle
Wood Wreath
Scissors
Ornaments
Thread or clear fishing line

The wood wreath can vary, this one I found at the Dollar Store along with the ornaments. Makes this a very inexpensive project.

I cut strips of tulle in various sizes from 4-6 inches long. Depending on the thickness of your wreath or the diameter, will determine how long you want to cut the tulle.

All of the pieces of tulle are simply tied in a double knot around the whole wreath. I tied them on very close to one another to make it very full and tied the knots in alternating places on the wreath to make the pieces stick out in different directions.

Once the wreath was covered and nice and full I used the thread to hang to ornaments at different lengths and attached another piece of tulle to hang the wreath.

In all it took me about an hour and 15 minutes. Super easy just takes time to tie on all of the tulle!

Menu Board

I made this super easy, super cute, super handy menu board. I got the idea from somewhere, most likely a blog but I can not remember exactly where but I do not take credit!

I bought the vinyl "menu" sticker on etsy from Delight Designs for only $2,months ago and finally just bought the plate for a few bucks at Walmart, had the stand, bought some dry erase markers and Presto! It comes in super handy to write little notes to my hubby along with dinner plans of course!

Here We (She) Goes Again!

One of my great customers allowed me to have a little hand in helping with announcing that she, her husband and adorable little daughter are expecting an addition to their family. A couple months ago I made a Big Sis shirt and a shirt for expecting Mommy that reads, Here We Go Again! This was a rather top secret mission because the shirts were not going to be worn until she was farther along and showing and ready to make the big announcement. I have been waiting very patiently to see some pictures and to be able to share and now I can! Congrats Allie and Family!

(Love the yellow shirt with this background!)

Random Awkward and Awesome

Yeah, I know this one time I said "oh watch me, I am going to do an awkward and awesome post every Thursday" that didn't work out so well. So that is why I call this a "Random" Awkward and Awesome post.
Awkward:
-Lil' jolting earthquake today
-being nervous to be called on to give an answer in a room full of teachers, I know how those kiddos feel sometimes when they don't want to share their answer out loud
-getting replies to my wedding with no name on them, its a mystery
-accidentally writing "Brian Break" when I meant "Brain Break" when I was explaining the new afternoon schedule to my 6th graders, they correct me and we now have collectively decided to just call it a Brain Break! Oh Just one of my many spelling mistakes!
-Funny thing is as I am reading over this post before publishing it I still wrote "Brian" 3 times on the last comment! Oh my!
Awesome:
- New sheets that stay on the corners of the mattress
-Getting the box of Groomsmen gifts I ordered in the mail today, they are perfect and I am not telling what it is.... surprises!
- Getting wedding replies in the mail!
- My Matron of Honor and Flower Girl will be here in exactly one week
- Great Behavior Management training today by Rick Morris, teachers check him out
- 4 day weekend
- The Daybook's Awkward and Awesome, she is so funny, such a good writer and has a cute lil baby bump
-Not sure that I shared any of my engagement pictures that I got a bit ago, even if I did already they are so awesome they are worth sharing again

1st attempt Tote

I follow several super creative bloggers and they are always posting DIY crafts and sewing projects that I love, but unfortunately don't ever really try. I saw a tutorial this morning for this tote bag by Make It and Love It and crazy enough, I tried it.

As much as I sew I don't normally do things like this. I have never used a sewing pattern before and although this didn't have a pattern it was the closest thing to a project along those lines.

DEFINITELY has its flaws but overall I am proud of myself! Might add a bow or flower to it later...

Instructions were to use a sturdy canvas-y material, but I just used materials that I had big enough pieces of and coordinated with each other.

Love: The fabric choice- matches well with each other, the square bottom, super easy and the size!

Needs improvement: a few puckers, the straps are far to close together and the whole "rounded opening" did not work out so well.

I am definitley going to try it again, practice make perfect!
